Event Report: First Impressions
To launch ‘First Impressions’ and to start a dialogue between Dutch citizens and newcomers, Verhalen van Vluchtelingen and First Impressions organised a special evening together within the theme of “first impressions” at 19 June in Amsterdam. The lively and well-attended event lead by Noemi Mena Montes. Through storytelling they encouraged refugees to express the unique experience of their first moments in the country where they arrived and in the places where they will be living. Several local people also shared their first impressions of their encounters with refugees in order to start a dialogue.
